The place

Old bones, new everything.

315A Main Street sits in a building that went up in 1945 as masonry with a metal roof and a lot of opinions about permanence. In 2023 it got a full renovation that kept the character and swapped in everything a weekend needs. The condo sits on the first floor: one level, no stairs to get in.

Kitchen with a white quartz island, four gray bar stools, gray cabinets and stainless appliances

The island is the living room.

Four bar stools around a quartz island, a fully stocked kitchen behind it, and stainless everything: electric range with a hood, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave. Coffee happens here. So does the post-gallery debrief about which painting you should have bought.

Bedroom 2 with a king bed, teal frame, framed prints and teal lamps on dark nightstands

Two bedrooms, two baths, zero arguing.

Bedroom 2 has the king and its own ensuite with a tub and shower. Bedroom 1 has the queen, with a full bath right off the hall: a walk-in, handicap accessible shower with a shower curtain, built to ADA specs. Memory foam mattresses and good linens in both, so nobody draws the short straw.

The black-and-white striped umbrella over a stone table beside the building's white stucco wall

That umbrella is the welcome mat.

Look for the black-and-white stripes behind the picket fence. Entry is by lockbox code and a physical key, and your lockbox code arrives by text on check-in day. 2 designated parking spots come with the stay, which you may not use again until checkout.

Downtown Bay St. Louis

Downtown isn't near you. You're in it.

315A Main Street sits in Old Town, the historic heart of Bay St. Louis, where Main Street runs straight down to the water. Galleries, the old train depot, coffee, oysters and cocktails are a stroll away, so the car mostly gets the weekend off.

Every month

Second Saturday

On the second Saturday of each month Old Town turns into a party: art, live music, open shops and special menus up and down the streets. Gallery 220 is a classic stop. You're already parked.

Eat + drink

Dinner is a short walk

The Old Town Merchants list reads like a weekend plan: Trapani's Eatery, Thorny Oyster, Mockingbird Cafe in a historic cottage, Sycamore House, and Hen House, a wine and cocktail bar with a late 1920s speakeasy feel.

Shop + browse

Shops you'll talk about later

The French Potager for flowers, books and garden things, The Prop Shop for vintage and art, Katie's Jewelry & Gifts in historic Century Hall, and le Diva's Closet right on Main Street.

On the water

Piers, crabbing, sunsets

Washington Street Pier reaches into the Mississippi Sound just off downtown, and Dunbar Street Pier on North Beach Boulevard is a public pier for fishing, crabbing or a stroll over the water.

Spring + summer

Wednesdays at the Depot

A free concert series of local music and art at the depot, on the third Wednesday of each month from April through September, 5 to 8 PM.

Getting here

Business names and events come from the Old Town Merchants Association and the City of Bay St. Louis. Hours and schedules change, so check before you go. Heirloom also sends every booked guest a personal list of local favorites.
